ART MEETS ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING
Earth Day can be the occasion for a longer learning journey. Teachers guide students as they observe trees and wildlife, discuss habitats and environmental care, and express their ideas in an original sculpture. VFD Earth Day All Day offers a way to bring that learning into the school community.
Explore trees as habitats and look for the birds, insects, and other wildlife connected to them.
Use the curriculum's included student materials to make a wildlife tree sculpture that tells a story about nature.
Display student work and invite students to explain their observations, artistic choices, and ideas for caring for the environment.
Show their sculptures, explain their wildlife discoveries, and take pride in their creative voices.
Make learning visible through student work and discussion across art and environmental topics.
See what children learned and join a conversation about local nature and caring for it.
FOR SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS
VFD Earth Day All Day can be planned as a classroom showcase, school exhibition, or wider district opportunity. The curriculum comes first; the celebration gives students an audience for what they learned.
Schools choose grade levels, participating classrooms, learning goals, and a timeframe. Teachers lead the curriculum and student art experience, then determine how students will share their work.
Student sculpture and art materials are included in the cost of the program option selected.
